I would like to seal my new Redwood Fence ONCE with something to permanently water proof it.?
Is there anything out there like that? Thanks!

Unfortunately there isn’t a water proofer that will last forever due to the sun, water, etc. Although redwood doesn’t rot or decay nearly as fast as regular treated wood.

I agree, no waterproofer lasts forever. Thompson Water Sealant works really well though.

I only know of Thompson’s Water Seal. It is the best, but it is not permanent. It will last for the longest between applications. Maybe call Lowes, Homepot, the people that sold you the fence, or a contractor.
Also, are you talking about spar urethane as a permanent sealer? It is a indoor/outdoor liquid similar to varnish that will out last a water sealer application but is very expensive.
Isn’t redwood one of those woods that are naturally resistant to the weather and wood rot anyway???

I am a painting contractor and I strongly agree with the poster who reccomended the sikkens ,you wont find anything better, and yes cabot is a good second choice and slightly cheaper and yes thompsons is a joke and a waste of money.

You can always use a marine grade epoxy, resin, type of sealer. Watch out for yellowing in the sun. I used stuff similar to this on my Grandmother’s pool bench about 10 years ago and its still holding up like a champ. http://www.seal-once.com/industrial/industrial-marine-multi-surface
Thompsons water seal is a JOKE. IT will last 6 months, no more. don’t waste your money on that garbage. I would suggest Sikkens SRD, Cabot’s 3000 waterproofer, or Benjamin Moore premium exterior stain.
Realistically, you should apply a waterproofing sealer every 3-5 years. for a fence, i would spray it with a pump-style garden sprayer. it will be fairly quick and easy to apply, just keep a brush handy to brush out runs/drips and try no to let it puddle/drip on the fence/ground/etc
