If i transfer from one community college to another will the credits transfer too?
i was planning on taking summer classes at Deanza to get a head start on transfer planning, but i might move to redwood city by fall semester, and attend a community college there. If i do, will the classes i already took count at the new college towards transferring to a UC?

You’ll have to ask your transfer adviser to make sure. If you are transferring from one community college to another community college, they should transfer. Make sure the credits you are taking will transfer to the school you eventually want to go to first!
If the school you transfer in to has a similar class, they will often transfer the course onto their transcript. But it’s a good idea to get a copy of your current (and all subsequent) school’s course description book and keep it until you get a bachelor’s. I found that after transferring many, many times, each new school wanted to actually look at the course description of a class I wanted to transfer (the description of the one I already took). Don’t rely on the website to keep updated info on past courses, since many classes are discontinued over time.
Good luck!
