Hotel on the beach near Redwood Forest?
I’m thinking of taking a vacation to the Redwood Forest. Does anyone know of a hotel on the beach near there? It can be about 30 minutes away from the forest.

Stinson Beach, Dillon Beach, Jenner Beach are all near Muir Woods.

Muir Beach is very near Muir woods. I believe Muir woods is what your talking about when you say Redwood Forest. Also near Muir woods is Stinson Beach. No such thing as Jenner Beach as that is a name of a town way north of Muir woods.

Super 8 Crescent City
This economy hotel is on the northern side of the Redwoods parks. Only small dogs are allowed, and there is a fee. Let management know your pet will be accompanying you when you make reservations or check in. The piers and beaches of Crescent City are within a short walking distance, and redwood forests are within a 10-minute drive. A free Continental breakfast is served in the hotel lobby each morning.

Hiouchi Motel
Just outside the northeast corner of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Hiouchi is a small hotel with just 17 rooms. Pets are allowed as long as they are well behaved. The motel’s property is adjacent to the clean, free-flowing Smith River, and there is plenty of room to exercise with dog walks along the riverside.

Comfort Inn
Situated just off Highway 101, the Redwood Highway, the Comfort Inn welcomes up to two dogs, under 25 lbs. each per room, for a nightly fee. Ask for a free pass to the nearby health club when you check in, or take your canine pal to work out in the city’s own Redwood forest. If by Redwood Forest you do in fact mean Muir Woods, you should try the Pelican Inn (http://www.pelicaninn.com/) It is a very small, English-style, country inn that is very close to Muir Beach and a few minutes’ drive away from Muir National Park. It is very quaint and a bit upscale, in a rustic way. Rates are $190 a night for the smallest room (and it is a very small, though cozy, room) so it isn’t cheap. The Mountain Home Inn is also nice (http://www.mtnhomeinn.com/) and comes with a cooked-to-order breakfast, but is also expensive, over $200 a night for most rooms, and is not on the beach.
There are some generic hotels, like a Best Western and a Holiday Inn, so if you’re tight on money try out this site, too: http://hotelguides.com/california/muir-woods-national-monument-ca-hotels.html. Generic hotels will probably not be on or maybe even near the beach; privately-owned hotels that happen to be are usually expensive.
