How big should I make the footings and which concreate should I use?
For an eagle project I will be building and installing redwood benches at the local regional park in ca. I want to secure them with L-shaped simpson brackets from the legs to a concrete footing. The leg size is 2 x 6. Do you have any idea what size hole for the footing and what is the best kind of concrete to use?

different soils and weather require different footings. Call the building inspector for your community and they can tell you what you need.

different parts of the country have different frost levels so corresponding building codes apply, and 6 sack concrete is best as apposed to 4 sack or 5 sack.
i can help you with this.. foundation of a house is usually 4 feet tall. the footing is about 10 inches tall..
for your bench to be stable as a rock, dig about 2′ down, and like other people said 2 by 3
five bag mix per yard should be more than fine
