I dont know what you mean by "close to metros". I suppose you mean, close to public transportation to San Francisco or somewhere else. What do you have to be near? Oakland, San Jose or San Francisco? the towns you listed are all over the greater bay area and are 50 – 100 miles apart. You should list more of what you expect to find. These choices are not near or in the city of San Francisco.
In the East Bay I recommend Berkeley since it has everything.
In the Peninsula, I recommend Palo Alto, near San Jose and the train to S.F.
In the Santa Clara valley, I recommend Los Gatos or Saratoga, near San Jose
In Marin county, I suggest Sausalito or Tiburon, a 1 hour drive to Stinson Beach.
In West Marin, I recommend Bodega Bay, Pt. Reyes or Bolinas, none of them near transportation.
