What is a creative/effective way for students to protest the budget cuts to the California University system?
If you go to school in California, then you already know that there was a 32% increase in fees and mandatory furloughs (professors are required to NOT be on campus for 10 days a semester. At my school (Humboldt State University) we started a student run group and occupied the library all night to discuss what to do about this. Some schools are protesting, yelling, holding signs, getting arrested. I have written letters to my representatives, but what else can we do?

Try college in a box, http://www.globallearningstrategies.org quit supporting that ungrateful school, let them fall on their faces. Get started on life much quicker, and without a ton of debt.

Unfortunately, an education does not teach people how to pull money out of thin air. If your research hasn’t proven that, then you don’t have much choice except to find another school.
Your only real choice is to find another school.
One thing you have to remember is that there is a severe budget crisis in California and part of the cause is a bloated education system. Money does not grow on trees and any money used to provide a taxpayer subsidy for your education would have to be taken from another necessary program.
In fact – you have not gained any sympathy from me as you seem to be demanding that more of my money be taken from my wallet and used to give you something for free.
