Humboldt State University?
I was thinking about going to Humboldt State, and I wanted to know how the weather was like over there. Does it snow? How does it compare to Los Angeles weather? How hot/cold does it get?

The weather is very similar to L.A., with the exception of a little more rain and fog in the winter.

It is much colder than LA but it’s in CA so I don’t think it snows..
Just a friend.

Clearly someone has never been to Eureka California.
That area is much more like Oregon weather than LA. Much more rain, cooler temps, fog, and less sun. No it does not snow, and you are not going to see summer highs anywhere near what you see in LA. The weather is very different than LA, you need to like clouds, rain and the cold.
If you are coming from LA, prepare for culture shock. Please visit first…

The weather around HSU is “moderate” because HSU and Arcata are on the coast. As SAV says, it doesn’t get very hot (70s max if you are in the sun) or very cold (30s overnight in the winter) and no snow, except the rare flurry which doesn’t ever stick because the ground isn’t frozen. There is definitely more fog and rain than So Cal because Arcata is on the coast but this is true anywhere north of San Francisco and it’s not every day all day. Also, if you want to seek heat, all you need to do is go inland … especially in the summer. Within a half hour drive, you can experience very warm summer temps. So, one great thing about the area is that one way or another, you can find a temperature that suits you.
As someone else said, it is nothing like LA. Cold, Foggy, and windy are the best ways to describe the Northern CA coast. Summer temps rarely go above 70 and are usually in the low 60’s. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Arcata was 87 degrees. It doesn’t snow but it’s really cool most of the year. Low 50’s in the winter during the day and low 60’s during the summer. And it rains a lot during the winter, similar to what Seattle or Portland might recieve.
Even though it’s a pretty cool climate, it doesn’t get that cold b/c it’s close to the coast. The temperature varies less than 10 degrees from it’s coldest month to it’s warmest month. You’re pretty much going to be wearing pants and a sweathshirt year round. The following link shows the average temps and rainfall for the year:
