Growing Redwoods…?
I am going to attempt to grow my own Dawn Redwood, Giant Sequoia, and Coast Redwood. Can anyone THAT HAS GROWN these trees, give me some advice as to how to germinate them and grow them, etc. I want professional advice please, only from people who have grown these trees.

I grew a dawn redwood. You won’t get seeds for this one, since all of the available trees are clones from one parent plant found in China. They are readily available as 2- to 4-foot bareroot plants, and they grow well if ordered from reputable nurseries. Plant one in the fall if you want to give it it’s best chance.
This tree is a deciduous conifer, which is odd but fascinating. If you put it in a moist area with lots of sunlight, it will grow like gangbusters – although it will tolerate non-moist conditions as well. It’s a really pretty tree and fun to grow.
