The whole thing has always been white (even the floor) and it’s so touch to keep it clean because we have a lot of trees, thus pollen and mildew always collect on the floor. So this year for my annual re-stain I’m tempted to keep the rails white but stain the floor a darker color, perhaps a redwood color, to eliminate the vulnerable floor. Would this look weird? Any tips, ideas, etc.
Hello, my name is Tim, I’m 16, and I live in northern California. Summer vacation has just started for me. I have problems with my mental state though I can be happy, and I’m usually nice to others but I can be really bipolar and have a bad temper at times, but I don’t do anything bad really.
I’m wondering, do you think a teenager who may have some problems like out of touch of reality and whatnot would be happier with a job? I’m sure most of you know that CA’s economy sucks and is hard to find a job, but I’ll try to find one, and my dad may help me find one in a chemical plant he works at.
I wouldn’t have too much of a problem with socializing with others in job though I can be a little slow and may stutter, but that’s it. I think having a job may build my confidence and may make more of a purpose for me rather than a weird kid who just sits on his computer. People say I’m talented and funny but I don’t know if that’ll help with the job.
I know the obvious ones: cedar, cypress, redwood, but what other types of wood are suitable for outdoor projects? A friend of mine mills his own lumber and we’re going to start building different outdoor products, but aren’t entirely sure what types of wood can be used.
My dogs and stray dogs like to lay in the flowers and leafy plants to cool off. I tried using the short decorative fencing but they just step over it. Anything else will cover the plants so you can’t see them. They are farm dogs so I don’t want to chain them up or kennel them. They have a pond, a river and a fountain/pool to cool off but they still want to relax on the plants. I’m thinking of putting decorative rock aroung the plants instead of the redwood to make it less comfortable.
A group of friends and I are planning on going to Maine, and I was looking into staying at this hotel. However, I believe the oldest one of us is only 17 years old. Is this possible? Also, if this were charged to an adults credit card (whom we would pay) would we be able to go there our selves and get the room? Since this adult would not be there with us. Is there any way of making this work? Be it reserving it in an adult’s name, and somehow going ourselves, or if we were old enough perhaps, etc etc.
Thank you for your help, and have a great day :]
I live in California, Redwood City. Does he have to show proof that it is in a separate account/provide bank address etc? Which law/provision states this?
I recently discovered that he spent my security deposit to pay off debt to his brother. In other words, he doesn’t have my deposit, is broke, and is depending on the next renter to pay me my security deposit.
I have built a gorgeous deck and cannot get a straight answer on sealing. I have used heartwood redwood and do not wish to lose the beauty of the wood. I have been told to use a tinted sealant and that seems ludicrous when I wish to retain the beauty o fthe wood. Second problem is prep work before sealing. I am open to suggestions.
I am building 2 picnic tables for an eagle scout project and was wondering what the cheapest good wood is?
Redwood is too expensive… I need something cheaper.
It is an outdoor picnic table.
I was wondering if treated lumber is really that bad? because if i paint or stain it, i will be covering up the "poisonous" stuff… it is also by far the cheapest i think.
If you know the average price of the wood you recommend, could you please tell me that.
A friend of mine was very careless with his cigarette, and set fire to my fence. I will need two fence panels replaced, including the posts. The fence is made up of cedar planks, and I believe it is 6 feet high. I will also need a redwood retaining wall board replaced. I am just curious if it is worth filing a homeowners claim, or if I should hire a handyman to do the repair? I live in NorCal btw.
It is city code that we have fences. Besides that we have a large dog who requires a fence.
