fun places to go for vacation in california?

Downtown, Los Angeles. I have 3 lofts there and I go whenever I can. It is great!

2. San Diego Zoo (world’s finest)
3. Sea World in San Diego
4. Wild Animal Park in San Diego
5. Disneyland/Knotts Berry Farm or Magic Mountain in Los Angeles
6. Catalina Island (I heard) in Avalon

I was just told that the Monterey Bay Aquarium was the highlight of a trip to California: better than Disneyland, or Universal Studios, both of which are fabulous, I’d say!

In Los Angeles there’s Six Flags, Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, etc. for theme parks. As far as sights go to third street promenade in Santa Monica if you like shopping, Venice Beach is always fun….you can hang out in Westwood right outside of UCLA they got tons of stuff to do there.
As far as up north I don’t know much there, except that Mammoth Lakes has awesome snowboarding.

Depends on what you’re into –
I just got back from Yosemite & that was amazing… but I’m an outdoor kind of gal…
There’s always Hollywood and Los Angeles – which has a lot to do, but very pricey – or Disneyland.
Northern California has San Francisco which is always great… wine country just north of that.
Or you can go further north, to Shasta, Mendocino, fishing in Redding… Lake Tahoe?
There is also Santa Cruz – where there’s a fun beach boardwalk park… and across the bay is Monterey & Carmel (home to Clint Eastwood).
There’s a lot to do – think about what you like & do that.

One word, Alkatraz.
San Francisco is FUN. So much to see in a small area and the tours are reasonable, fun and set up perfectly for tourists – they will pick you up at your hotel.
