Everytime I’ll go to like Target, Circuit City, and Best Buy they never have it! Then I look online and I can’t find it!! What the hell?? I live in Redwood city and really want it!! I already have tha iTouch, iPod nano in purple, pink and black but now I want this specific one!! HELP!!

Humans tend to cut down trees and use the land for agriculture. This has been happening for thousands of years. Is this the real cause of global warming? Are gas guzzlers and coal power plants just salt in the wound, causing pain and blame? But the wound would still be fatal without them?

If this is the case, why is the world so focused on such pain and blame, and not focused on the real cause, and what to do about it? Can’t we somehow undo the effects of deforestation?

What would happen if every city and county were to plant hundreds or thousands of giant redwood trees? In WWII people had victory gardens. Why can’t we use the same principle as victory gardens to have clean air parks? Millions of parks around the world with land devoted to reversing global warming by consuming carbon dioxide and replacing it with oxygen? Whatever plants grow best in each climate and contribute the most oxygen.

Would this make sense? Or what don’t I understand?
"It’s a combination of causes" is clearly not a good answer, because it’s already known and assumed, and doesn’t even address the question. The question is not "what are the causes" but rather "what is the main cause" and "what can we do about that main cause".
Answers such as "emissions are a bigger cause than deforestation" need some kind of support or references, because, if they were obvious, the question would not be asked.

is an eye-opener. If nobody can post any data to refute those figures, that answer is the most enlightening yet.
"If 90% of the planet would be forests and oceans" is an interesting hypothesis, but it seems to me it would imply a much lower world population, with a lot less industry and agriculture. But even with the same population and the same amount of pollution as now, would it really be correct? How much effect does each square mile of ocean have, vs each square mile of forest? If the amount of forest increased, but the oceans stayed the same, as they probably would no matter how much reforestation we did, and we kept reforesting till 90% of the planet’s surface was either ocean or forest, would that really not be enough to overcome our present carbon dioxide production?

I have been laying redwood flooring over existing floors in an old property and have found it impossible to keep clean. I am now left with foot prints all over the floors which need to be removed befire it is stained and varnished. Any ideas ?

Most American agglomerations aren’t single cities, but rather metropolitan areas containing different cities or even counties. Let’s take the San Francisco Bay Area. It is composed out of nine counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. All of those counties have different Sheriff’s Offices. There are cities like San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Fremont, Santa Rosa, Redwood City, Concord, Fairfield, Berkeley, Napa, San Rafael, Hayward which have their own respective Police Departments. That gives us 12 different PD’s!

With crime not knowing any borders or limits, how those Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments manage to coordinate fighting crime? Is there any central institution for the coordination of different SO’s or PD’s? How police detectives manage to find criminals hiding outside their jurisdiction?

Isn’t there some kind of law enforcement structure on the state level?
For example, in California, there’s California Highway Patrol, which serves as the State Police. They mainly control the highways and state roads, but they also have jurisdiction anywhere in the state of California and can aid local LE if necessary.

BUT, can they also coordinate various LE agencies, command them to do something, etc.? Isn’t there ANY state supervision over the local agencies?

We moved just north of Sac Cali last year and haven’t seen much at all. We want to go site seeing but was unsure of what all to do. We’ve been to Tahoe twice already. And wanted to keep it within about 3 hours. Were looking for Redwoods, lakes, camping areas, and things for a 3 yr old! Thanks in advance.

i currently work in a landscaping company in redwood city california but we do landscaping work in the city of san francisco. Should i be getting paid more than my regular salary? is there any law that my salary should be higher for working with the city of san francisco?
