Can anyone suggest a Romantic vacation somewhere in the U.S.? Read more..?
My husband and I are hoping to take a vacation together. We always have 3 kids with us, so to get away by ourselves is already a vacation in itself..lol
I don’t want to do a theme park, preferably not the beach either but I am open to ideas.(on beaches, not theme parks) Also, we will have to go somewhere that has a Hilton, Hampton, Double Tree, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites or Home wood Suites, as we have a ton of points and will be able to stay free of charge.
Airfare, is not an issue. But again, I want to stay in the U.S.
I am in the state of Alabama. So please no suggestions to anything around here.
We are planning to go between June and August 2008.
Thanks in advance for your help

My husband and I went there twice in 2006 for long weekends. Fly into Albequerque (sp?) and drive up. Ton’s of art galleries, great restaurants and pubs, you can walk everywhere, (there’s one or two Hilton’s there). Native American artists everywhere. Beautiful scenery. So much history. Take a tour or two for a better understanding of the area. Oh, I can smell the smoke from a pinon pine fire burning just thinking about it.
Jackson Hole WY is also great. It’s just not as large of an area. Still, nice art galleries, a few nice restaurants. It’s located at the Grand Tetons, but Yellowstone is also just a day trip from Jackson.
Both places are, of course, very different from AL and since they are both high desert areas, the climate is nice in the summer.
Have Fun!

A real nice place is Branson Missouri.Safe, plenty to do .It has lots for you and your husband. Some really great shows and things for the kids as well no matter what age.To much to mention and not to overwhelning. Most people never think of Branson but it is a meca of entertainment and an amusement park is close by if you change your mind.It is very pretty there and a really neat town near by is Eureka Springs Arkansas , 45 minutes away. So quaint and pretty. I Just to much to tell so go on line and research it. Happy Traveling.

I know a family that has a spaicel needs child who is still in diapers at age 10 years old. Because of his deficits, he messes up a lot of clothes. His sister/guardian has a washing machine but no dryer. She has a clothes line but neighbors’ trees prevent sun from shining on the clothes line which makes it even more difficult to get the clothes dried and keep up with the laundry. My Christmas wish is that this family be blessed with a working clothes dryer. Thank you for careing. Janice
How about flying to San Francisco? You could spend time in the city (ride the cable cars, see the Golden Gate Bridge, have dessert in the Italian area of North Beach, etc.) and then drive up to Napa and Sonoma Valleys, about an hour north. Wine country is beautiful, and certainly romantic. Try sipping champagne on the stone patio at Gloria Ferrer or riding a hot air balloon.
Another idea is NYC. There are lots of romantic options — riding a carriage through Central Park, climbing the Empire State Building, seeing a Broadway show, and having dinner at a candelit restaurant in Greenwich Village.
Las Vegas is also a place that might be better enjoyed as an adults-only vacation. Cruise the casinos, take a side trip to Red Rock Canyon or Hoover Dam, and end the day with a nice dinner at one of the famous chefs’ restaurants. Or perhaps see a show.
Happy travels!
