How would I go about selling a big redwood tree in my yard?
I have a big redwood tree right in front of my porch. It is beautiful but is getting to be too big. It may end up causing us lots of problems if we keep it much longer. Instead of cutting it down, we want to sell it to someone who would appreciate it. I heard a long time ago that people pay good money for mature trees. The problem is I have know idea where to begin.

The problem is, redwood trees belong in the forest – they do not make good decorative trees for the very reason you wish to get rid of it – they get too big for a residential lot, unless that lot is naturally surrounded by redwoods.
If the tree isn’t too tall (i.e. under 15′ tall), a tree company may be able to dig it out and move it, but that’s likely to be expensive.
you would need heavy equipment to pull up an established tree in your yard and also the roots are probably growing underneath your porch and your house. ripping up a tree could cause damage to your property. It may end up costing you rather than profiting you. just cut it down and start over.
