Honeymoon help?
So, when we got engaged last year, my mother in law said that she would take care of our honeymoon as a gift to us. She said that the only stipulation was that she would get to pick where we went for a week. She said she would make sure it was somewhere nice and run some ideas by us to make sure it wasn’t something we would hate. Originally, it was going to be Disney World. Then, California (like a road trip kind of thing), then Vegas, and then she said she would just give us a thousand bucks and her car and we could go wherever. The other day, she told my fiance that she didn’t think she was going to do our Honeymoon afterall. Our wedding is 2 1/2 months away. We are a one income couple with no extra cash. Ever. Now, I’m stuck with trying to find somewhere for us to go that is nice, but inexpensive. Any ideas? We live in Northern, Illinois, but we would travel anywhere as long as the price was right. I’m wondering about any all-inclusive resorts or well, just anything.

There are so many beautiful places you could go. What were you looking for? Relaxing or adventurous?

Caribbean cruises are all inclusive and can be surprisingly inexpensive compared to hotels and eating out. You also get entertainment as a bonus. I like to check prices online because I can easily look at different destinations and lengths of trips to compare prices. http://www.sunshinetravelinc.net is one place to check. It also has a free honeymoon registry (look on the extras tab). It was a new concept to me about a year ago. I found the FAQ to be really informative.

you may like a cruise. i think that Princess is the best cruise line. vacationstogo.com is great for really good last minute deals.
have you thought of registering for your honeymoon? i recommend http://www.depositagift.com we are using it and think it’s great, really user friendly and easy for guests. you can use the gift money for your trip and it’s fun for guests to feel included b/c they can buy you different parts. i bet if you use deposit a gift you could have your entire trip paid for 🙂 good luck!
Have you thought about registering for your honeymoon? It is sort of like registering for dishes at a department store. My daughter got married in June and she registered for her honeymoon. Many friends and relatives were happy at the opportunity to contribute to the honeymoon as a gift. For more info on honeymoon registeries go to http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/honey-registry.html
