Get a map of Southern Oregon.
Here’s a good site to show you what you might like to see:

For lodging, I suggest a Comfort Inn

Start by looking in Crescent City, that’s a good place to start. Just south of the Oregon border, you’ll be able to find places to stay there, and you’re right there to see the redwoods.

Crescent City, California is the headquarters for the Redwood National Park. It probably is the ideal location for you. You can visit their website at http://www.crescentcity.org or go to http://www.northerncalifornia.net. They both have information that would also give you some tips on where to stay.

Get a map or search Google there are redwood not too far from the OR border where you could find a small romantic town.
You can grow redwoods where you live. They sell them in big nursery’s
so if you went to a larger town to might buy a couple.
