In California how are commission based employees paid vacation benefits?

I was recently put on commission in my company. Previously we would get paid ten days vacation time based on our salary. Now that I am on commission my manager is telling me that my vacation time now goes against my draw. If I don’t make my draw to cover those ten days then I get in the hole for the vacation pay. Is this legal?

I live in California and am leaving my job. Should I get paid out for vacation time?

Does it make more sense financially to use up my vacation time before I leave or to get paid out for it once I leave? I believe that you pay extra in taxes when you’re paid out for vacation time….

California Vacation Pay Law?

My husband has been working at the same job for 18 months. He has NEVER used a single day of vacation time, and in 18 months has been sick once. He did not get paid for the sick day, as we assumed, and that was that. However, he took a day off last week and informed the pay roll woman to credit it towards his vacation time since he knew he had a ton accrued since he’d never used any.
Today, his boss called him to tell him that he has no time accrued and what he did is going to jeopardize his job.
This is a very small mom and pop place that does not put record of accrued vaca time on the pay checks, and does not provide an organized way for us to see how much he has accrued. They did, however, tell him when he was hired, that after his probationary period (2 months) he would start accruing the vaca and could start putting it to use after 1 year.
Can anyone refer me to legal sites that can either confirm or deny the truth to what she is telling him? I do not feel this is correct, however the sites I am finding are not answering my questions…

California vacation time law…?

Can an employer pay some employees vacation time and not others? I asked my employer for vacation time but they told me that because they are a small company they do not have a vacation time policy. But as a matter of fact, they have paid some employees vacation time even previous employees that held my postion. Is this legal?

In California, can an employer require you to use vacation time for requested time off?

My employer recently changed their policy that any time you request off, you MUST use vacation time. This includes if you want to leave work an hour early, or take a sick day, etc. The previous policy permitted requesting "Time Off Without Pay." Are they legally allowed to require the use of vacation time?

Required paid vacation time in California?

In California if you work for an employer for a full year at 40 hours a week are they required to give you a weeks paid vacation time?

I know that CSUN has an English traning school for those international students who had not past the Toefl exam (it from 9AM to 1PM everyday).
I just want to know the vacation time for this traning school. Can you just send me a time table about the vacation time?

Want to go to seattle, wa best price?

We are planning to go vacation but with gas prices I want to go some place close. We are think seattle but have want some suggestions from locals. What go place to go in seattle. Also does anyone know of good website for cheap airfares. We are considering driving up to seattle from northern california. If we do we might stay over night in portland. Any tips on portland. We would be take our own car instead of renting one. So we want to split half and half time so we don’t over heat the car and drive 12 hours straight. We are plan to go june 11 to june 17 so not many days avilable want to make use of the short vacation time.

Can an employer in California force me to use vacation time so that my accrual can comply with a new PTO cap?

My employer has changed the cap on PTO as of this year and is asking me to take vacation time because I have far more hours accrued than the new cap allows. Is this legal? Is there such a thing as a "Grandfather" clause in this instance? Is it mandatory (legally speaking) for me to use vacation time to comply with the new policy?
