I am taking a cross country trip from SC to CA with my pitbull and need to know what states and cities have laws or regulations against pitbulls. Especially Co, Nv, and CA. We will be spending most of our time in CA from Redwoods to San Fran, Denver, and the Grand Canyon. Any advise and websites are appreciated. Thanks
I am flying into San Francisco on a Friday and flying out the following Saturday. I would like to see some of San Fran and some of the Redwoods and also Napa Valley. I don’t know where to start. Which particular places should I visit and how much time should I allow? Thanks so much!
my husband and i are going to california next year for almost 3 weeks. our schedule goes like this so far:
flight- 1 day
san francisco- 4 days
ocean beach- 1 day
monterey, big sur, carmel area- 4 days
just driving along the coast on hwy 1- 1 day
napa valley- 4 days
yosemite- 4 days
flight- 1 day
my question is, do i really need that 1 whole day of just driving on Hwy 1? or will i get enough of that on the way from san fran to monterey and monterey to big sur, etc.? should i use that day for something else, like possibly going to see the ghost town of Bodie after yosemite for the day or maybe going to santa cruz for the day? or is just driving down the coast really worth it? i can’t decide. i am very much into photography, especially black and white and infrared and my husband is too and i think we could take some amazing photos in bodie, plus it would be a neat change of scenery, to see the old west and the desert. but i also have this feeling that i will regret not spending more time on the beautiful coast, seeing the cliffs and the ocean on the road. if you have experience with any of these places let me know. thanks!
I will be traveling to CA the day after my 21st b-day. I will be in the San fran, San jose area and ALL around there. now – I’ve never been to CA before, what is there to do that I can’t miss??

My family and I are planning a visit to California this summer. I am a forester, so I want to see the giant redwoods in addition to the giant sequoias. My family would rather visit tourist destinations in San Fransisco, while I would rather see the trees. They refuse to travel to Redwood National Park due to the distance from San Fran. In your opinion, what is the best redwood forest or park that is within a couple hours of San Fran?
I’m going to college at San Fran state and my friend and I are looking to room together. She’s going to Foothill Community college, so we were thinking redwood city or san mateo, or anything in between. Does anyone know how long it would take to get to Daly city from those places?
Or maybe, suggestions on where we should live?

Some places I had in mind where San Fran, Catalina Island, San Simeon, San Luis Obispo. Anyone have any ideas? Oh and any worth wild places to check out, like I was thinking of going Hearst Castle, any other attractions we should stop for? Everyone is giving me a cities to visit but I need attractions too. It’ll be a 5 day vacation (Spring Break, most likely) and I’ll only be able to visit one with enough time and it’s surrounding areas.
I know it’s ultimately up to me, but I’d just like to get some feedback on what interests you guys most.
I think I’m going to discard LA, since there’s so much in and around San Fran.
