Please Help With Algebra?

Rational expressions, or fractions, as we often hear them called, can
also be called ratios. When you have two ratios equal to one
another, this is called a proportion. Proportions can be used to
solve a number of different types of situations or problems. I
often use proportions in my daily life, for instance, I was just on a
vacation to the Redwoods of California. I can think of three instances
of the top of my head where I used proportions. 1) Modifying my
family’s spaghetti sauce recipe for just two people, 2) calculating the
cost of the gas needed for the road trip, and 3) estimating the amazing
tall Redwood using our height, shadow length and similar
triangles!

1) Consider your everyday activities and think of a situation in which
you have or could use proportions.

2) Pretend that you are explaining this situation to your friend or
spouse. Provide some specific numbers and walk-through the
process of solving the proportion for the unknown quantity. Be
sure to explain why you do each step!

Where to go on a California road trip?

I might be interested in taking a road trip through all of california (north tip to south tip or vice versa) to take photos. I know I want to go to the well known places (San Fran, Disneyland, LA, Hollywood, the Redwood forest, etc.) but I want to go to lesser known places as well. So, where do you recommend I visit?

Any suggestions of places to stop on highway 101?

I’m going on a road trip starting from San Fransisco all the way up the 101. I want to stop at the Redwood National Forest, and was just wondering if there are other cool places to stop and see?

What are the best places to visit along the West Coast?

I am going on a road trip from Fort Worth, Tx through the west coast visiting; Mesa Verde NP in Colorado- Arches NP,Bryce Canyon, & Zion NP in Utah-Grand Canyon NP in Arizona- Las Vegas in Nevada- Los Angeles, Yosemite NP, San Fransisco Area, & Redwood NP in California- Mt Rainier NP & Seattle in Washington- Glacier NP in Montana- Yellowstone NP in Wyoming- Mount Rushmore NP & then a long drive back home. I want to know any place I really should stop along the way like oddities, great vegetarian restaurants, parks, waterfalls, vintage clothing stores, cheap neat things, great views, museums and whatever else. Remember this is a road trip so it doesn’t need to actually be there places along the way are great too. This is a lot of work trying to find things to do places to go I am counting on you to help me out. Oh! and I am traveling with two teenagers so that would be a good thing to keep in mind. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please reply with anything you deem worthy.

Do you have any suggestions for our Road Trip Honeymoon?

My fiance and I are getting married in April 2011, and we are planning to leave on our honeymoon the 2nd week in May. We are taking off for a couple weeks and going on a Road Trip! We live in South East Michigan and plan on driving into Northern California, driving South on the Pacific Coast Highway until L.A. From there we will spend a few days in Vegas and then Head back Home. We don’t necessarily plan on stopping everywhere for a couple days…we mainly want to drive South on the PCH for the views…I hear the are incredible. I would like our main stays to be a couple days each on a couple beach cities and a couple days in Vegas. The rest we will just be stopping, sight seeing, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for us??? Places we just HAVE to see, restaurants along the way we HAVE to try??? I really appreciate any input.

My fiance and I are getting married in April 2011, and we are planning to leave on our honeymoon the 2nd week in May. We are taking off for a couple weeks and going on a Road Trip! Are there redwoods near I-5 in northern California?

I am taking a road trip from Portland, OR to LA this June, and was hoping to see some Redwoods, or possibly even get to drive through one of them. However, I need to go the I-5 route to save time, and won’t be able to make a side trip over to the 101 route.

Are there any redwoods nearby I-5, maybe somewhere near the Redding area?

Best cities/areas to visit in California for a romantic weekend vacation?

I am thinking about taking my boyfriend on a road trip up the coast. We live in San Diego so I want to head north for a few days. Some places I had in mind where San Fran, Catalina Island, San Simeon, San Luis Obispo. Anyone have any ideas? Oh and any worth wild places to check out, like I was thinking of going Hearst Castle, any other attractions we should stop for? Everyone is giving me a cities to visit but I need attractions too. I want to take him to special places we have never been before.

I am taking a road trip from Michigan to Oregon. I’ll be stopping in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Northern California (Redwood Forest region), then finally Oregon. Does anyone know of some good reputed haunted hotels or inns throughout these states? Any with historical value as well? I would appreciate any help given. Thank you!
