You know how all of you R&S people are sooooo wise, well, Here are the scenarios, lol…In fact, most likely we would be taking two of them at different times between this summer and next spring "IF" we can decide.
1.) Driving to Northern Cali, see friends and some family, see the Redwoods by the coast again and see Yosemite. Probably better to do that in the fall or spring ?
2.) Flying to either Seattle, WA or Portland, OR, see family and several friends in WA. Also going to Victoria and Vancouver, if possible. (summer) Have been putting this off for years!
3.) Colorado, flying then renting a car, traveling a portion of the area seeing friends. (either fall or spring) Putting that off for years as well. XD
4) Flying to No Carolina, briefly see family that I haven’t seen in a while, again renting a car. Driving around and possibly visiting good friends in So Carolina. (feel like that is an important family decision)
5) Seeing a very close friend that I haven’t seen for years. She lives in Michigan but probably would vacation with her in Chicago. Spoke with her last night and I could tell she was hurt I haven’t made time for her.
(I know I am blessed with a lot of friends, LOL…family is another story) Anyway, time and money only goes so with ALL of your help I can figure this out, hopefully.
You thoughts on vacations, what to see, the best value, time of year, etc.,etc.

how were the redwoods formed and why are they located where they are?
My family and I are looking for a great place to camp in California. We love being surrounded by redwoods, but would like to stay near central California (close to where we live). Yosemite is booked and we have stayed at the KOA in Santa Cruz and liked it. Does anyone have any other suggestions on great places for a family with young children?
I want to live as close to the ocean as possible, and as "rural" as possible. I love the forest (redwoods/Arcata!), hiking,…, but Ojai looks beautiful also… & is warmer! I will be renting– are these areas comparable in affordability? Any small coastal towns I should check out?

I’m driving up to Portland with someone who’s never been outside of LA and want to blow their mind (hitting the redwoods and the Oregon caves on the way…)
