Question related to biology about survivorship curves and harvesting?

1. explain your view of the survivorship curves of automobiles, redwood trees, salmon, and a set of dishes. how would you draw this?

2. if you were in the business of growing, harvesting, and selling freshwater fish, to insure a maximum long term yield from your "farm," at what point in the population growth would you harvest? at what point would you take no more fish? what other factors would affect yields and how would you adjust your operation?

any help is appreciated. thank you.

Does grass grow around redwood trees?

What grows on the ground beneath redwoods? Specifically, does grass grow? Or does some other type of greenery grow? Or does the massive redwood root system keep the ground barren? I’ve become very interested in redwood trees lately, thanks for any answers.

Can redwood be used to make a longbow/recurve bow?

I’m interested in making a handmade longbow and i am curious if using a type of redwood would be suitable. We have two Metasequoia, type of redwood, trees that need to be removed. They are huge and it would be great if they could be used for this application. Any thought?

How to put a background picture in my movie?

I am doing a project and I need to have a background pictures with redwood trees in one scene and a pretty home in another, both of which I already found on google images but how do I incorporate that into my video clip? I am using windows movie maker and adobe after effects…if its some other program I don’t mind downloading it or buying it. I just want to know how to put a background picture with the people moving around as if we took the scene there.

Can Redwood trees grow places that get cold so long as they are watered enough?

I live in a place with cold winters (temps can get below 0 F at times) and I am wondering if Redwood trees can grow in such a climate

Colleges.ugh.decision time.help!please?
im deciding between sonoma state and humboldt state.
my mom wants me to go to sonoma, mostly because its closer (about an hour away).
*the pros:
close to home
sunny weather
nice dorms
better reputation

*cons:
-Rohnert Park (the town its in) is sooooo boring!it’s deff not a college town. its in the suburbs and all they have is like a bunch of chainstores. i HATE that kind of environment. and i heard the town is full of a bunch of old people who always call the cops
-commuter campus..half the people leave on weekends, which means i probably will. but i want to go to a college that will be my HOME not a home away from home.

Humboldt
pros:
-downright beautiful campus and area. redwood trees everywhere.
-the smell of fresh, clean air (lots of trees=more oxygen)
-people there are SO nice! just a bunch of chill people
-dont need a car because most things are within walking distance
-residential campus–it will be my home. and i hope to live in that area after i graduate.
-the town is very college friendly–its a college town! lots of college-centered things
-in general, i just love the town its in (Arcata, CA)
-the food is mostly organic and fresh (grown right in the area)

cons:
-bad weather–it rains most of the year :/ (although i dont really care)
-when people think humboldt, they think weed

im not too concerned about the reputations because im going into nursing and they dont really care where you graduate from, employers care more about the grades you got.

ugh!!so hard.
do i go to a school i downright love and cant wait to go to even though it rains
or
do i go to a school my parents favor thats closer to home and has nicer weather?

what would you do in my situation?
