Trigonometry question – please check over my work?

I’m doing a review for a test and have the question: A forester, 200 feet from the base of a redwood tree, observes that the angle of elevation to the top of the tree is 57 degrees. Estimate the height of the tree.

My answer came out to be the tan(57) = opposite side/200 which comes out to be 200tan(57) = 307.97 ft.

Seems correct but would like to have my work double checked.
Thanks everyone for checking that. It really is appreciated.

Math is not my strongest subject. =P

My father-in-law has had his redwood septic tank for 40 years. Any estimates of how much longer it will last &

and what will happen when it fails? We don’t want an old septic tank to damage the new leach field anytime soon, but he doesn’t want to replace something that is working. My sister is building a new home and when they did soil tests a 5000 year old redwood tree that was solid and not decomposed was found in the soil sample. That makes me think maybe redwood lasts a long time when it is buried so I shouldn’t worry, but 40 years seems like a long time for a septic tank on the other hand. Also there’s a huge oak tree within about 10 feet of the septic tank. Could the roots have penetrated the tank? Should we dig around the tank to find out? Oh, and a concrete patio was put above the tank about 36 years ago by the previous owner. Any ideas of how to remove the concrete without applying a lot of pressure to the ground above the elderly septic tank? I’ve been reading a LOT about septic systems lately and haven’t found even one reference to redood tanks. Thanks for the answers everyone!

How would I decorate a huge outdoor tree? construction gear?

I bought lights and huge ornaments for my 100-ft Redwood tree. I want to decorate it. What is going to be the most cost-effective way to do this? Build scaffolding? Rent an ez-lift? Hire a company? We are in Bay Area, California. Thanks for your ideas!

Which of these two items is considered renewable in an economic perspective?

1. old-growth redwood tree
2. salt (sodium chloride)

They both are nonrenewable in a physical sense but one is defined as renewable in an economic sense.
I think its the old-growth redwood tree?

Name of book about a boy who runs away and lives in a tree?

i read a book a long time ago, and want to figure out the name. It is about a teenage boy who runs away from home and lives in a giant tree that he hollows out. It was maybe a redwood tree. He has to hunt for his food, etc. in the woods. Anyone know the name and/or author?

Since plants lack a skeleton, what gives them structure and support?

This is for my science, exact question:
"Since plants lack a skeleton, what provides structure and support for a redwood tree (112m) or a black tree fern (24m)?" In other words, what holds it up?

Who is watchdogging the watchdog environmental groups?

This environmental disaster smells fishy. Where are the radical environmental groups like those that protested the Exxon Valdez every day for months with protests and arrests. Remember the garbage burning protests in New Jersey. Remember the Headwaters Redwood tree sitter Rainbow??? Now it is like a real silent spring with no whistle blowing, bull horn bellowing protesters.

If environmental groups can’t get out their and watchdog the oil industry, what are they doing? Who is watching the watchdogs????

Obviously, we have a green agenda that supercedes environmental protection!
