I am in 8th grade and me and my mom are going down to San Diego and LA for vacation over Memorial Day. We were just wondering what one of the nicest beaches are down there and what is something to see or do that is fun?? Where is the best place to shop??
My husband has been working at the same job for 18 months. He has NEVER used a single day of vacation time, and in 18 months has been sick once. He did not get paid for the sick day, as we assumed, and that was that. However, he took a day off last week and informed the pay roll woman to credit it towards his vacation time since he knew he had a ton accrued since he’d never used any.
Today, his boss called him to tell him that he has no time accrued and what he did is going to jeopardize his job.
This is a very small mom and pop place that does not put record of accrued vaca time on the pay checks, and does not provide an organized way for us to see how much he has accrued. They did, however, tell him when he was hired, that after his probationary period (2 months) he would start accruing the vaca and could start putting it to use after 1 year.
Can anyone refer me to legal sites that can either confirm or deny the truth to what she is telling him? I do not feel this is correct, however the sites I am finding are not answering my questions…
ok so my parents said i could have a sleep over party in a hotel i don’t know which hotel to pick i got it down to the Hilton Garden Inn or the Ameri Suites i haven;t been to either of them if you been to one of them please let me know how they are and if you liked it and what you didn’t like about it.

About a yr ago, my Mom’s best friends son announced he is getting married (he’s 38). We were childhood friends, but by the time we reached high school, he had his friends, I had mine and we drifted a-part. Besides, his wedding is in Northern California (Mid April) and I live in Chicago, IL. My Mom and Step Dad are flying out there and extending their trip, after the wedding to drive down the coast and visit my sister and her family.
For the past year, my inlaws have had a family vacation planned for us in Disney World, Florida (Late March). Very expensive, as were going during Easter time.
So, about 2 wks ago I told my Mom that we can’t swing the airfare and hotel to fly to CA for this wedding and she flew off the handle. She said, if you can afford to go to Disney World, you can afford to come to CA for this wedding. I disagree with her. I’m an Adult. I haven’t seen this guy in over 12 yrs. Ok, he invites me to his wedding, so what…

I was 16, and I traveled the world, until my parents clashed with each other. My dad is who I live with, and my f****** mom took away my travel dreams from me. I cannot even leave northern California! I want to travel to foreign countries, and she prohibits it. My father can go to prison if I leave! Now that I’m 17, can I go vacation this summer?
I go to Ireland almost every year since I was little and can’t wait another summer to go see my cousins… Although, some of them are coming down here and we are all going on vacation somewhere in the US. Does anyone know any place (in Humboldt) to adopt a duck? I have already looked at feed stores, animal shelters and pet stores and they don’t have any. I don’t know if there are any farms near by, but my mom wont help… at all! I want two adult ducks and cant find any. Please help if you know of any places.
i am going on vacation soon and every year it is really apathetic. i am terribly morose right now because my family is not the most technological advanced family. the closest thing we own to modern technology is this computer and some DVD players. we do not have PS2 or XBOX or any of those kinds of stuff. so i really want a nintendo ds and a nintendog to go with it but my dad is really hard to convince and i go on vacation in about two days. i have even offered the money to buy it but my mom says i cannot get one unless my dad says yes. my dad is the type of caring person but is really strict on money and how we spend it. please help me and do not put dumb things saying that i do not need one. can you help me get a nintendo ds and a nintendog before i go on vacation? oh yes, and i will NOT go out and buy it on my own because my parents WILL take it away. my father is also convinced that modern technology is not needed. it is like trying to move a huge redwood that is 800 years old….
my parents are " considering " buying me one, but i highly doubt it. but if they do, i dont want to have my money wasted by already buying one.
We will be traveling between San Francisco and LA in February. We’d like to see the redwoods and have heard good things about both Muir Woods and Henry Cowell State Park. Does anyone have an opinion on which is better. Also we’d like to go to some hot springs – as natural as possible (not just a pool in a spa) but since we are a family with one son, one daughter and one mom they need to be coed so that we can bathe together. Any ideas for this? Thanks.
