Bollywood meets Hollywood Sweet Sixteen Ideas?

My daughter wanted to have a rather large sweet sixteen with her friend, this year at the Hilton Garden Inn. She is brown, while her friend is black, so they wanted a Hollywood meets Bollywood theme. We wanted to know some interesting things to do at the party, some memorable favours and how the invites look. Yes, this is ALOT for two sixteen year olds, but, most of the money they earn. Also, the color schemes were going to be red, gold and black. So i was wondering, if you all can check out this website. http://www.hellocakes.ca/cakes/index.shtml
and click on the bohemian one. I was wondering if you would eat a red cake [ instead of the blue shown here], with GOLD icing [instead of the brown icing]. The trouble is, i didn’t think most people would eat a red cake, so we might have to add the color cream into our color scheme. So then, the cake would be a cream color, the icing goold, and ribbons in between the tiers. If you can give suggestions, i would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Can anyone suggest a Romantic vacation somewhere in the U.S.? Read more..?

My husband and I are hoping to take a vacation together. We always have 3 kids with us, so to get away by ourselves is already a vacation in itself..lol

I don’t want to do a theme park, preferably not the beach either but I am open to ideas.(on beaches, not theme parks) Also, we will have to go somewhere that has a Hilton, Hampton, Double Tree, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites or Home wood Suites, as we have a ton of points and will be able to stay free of charge.

Airfare, is not an issue. But again, I want to stay in the U.S.

I am in the state of Alabama. So please no suggestions to anything around here.

We are planning to go between June and August 2008.

Thanks in advance for your help

Visiting Toronto in 2 weeks; What is there to do?

I’ve lived 1-2 hours from Toronto all my life, but I’ve totally taken it for granted, and don’t know everything it has to offer. I have a friend coming from Chicago (who is originally from France) and this will be his first trip to Canada; I want to make it a good one. We’ll be in Toronto on Jan 15, 16, & 17.

I’m looking for things that will be inexpensive and also Winter friendly. I’d love to do things like the CN Tower, ROM, Casa Loma, etc, but those are all kind of pricey, and too many things like this will cost us a lot.

Also, I’d love it if anyone can suggest bars or pubs that cater to people in the mid to late 20s. We’re staying at the Hilton Garden Inn which is close to Adelaide & Spadina, so it would be great if you could also suggest anything in that area as well.

Why no job yet?

I have applied at so many places.. I have two years work experience as a Dishwasher in a busy restaurant adjacent to a Hilton Garden Inn hotel, I am 16 years old, I have good references, why will no one hire me? I really need a job!

I am really sad when I don’t work because I love working I don’t really care how much I am paid… but my last pay rate was .21… And thats after 2 raises, why will no one hire me :(
I worked 25 hours a week, and I can’t find another job? I am a dependable employee, I don’t care if I am only 16. I need to work. Where the hell else do you think I am going to get money for when I move out on my own?!!
Oh, and I just left my last job 3 weeks ago.

Restaurants in Toronto?

I’m staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Peter and Adelaide. Im looking for good restaurants in this area. I’m not looking for highclass, just casual, good atmosphere, and good food. Also, if you can suggest restaurants within Kensington Market and China Town that would be great as well. We are open to any kind of menu, whether it be chinese, italian, greek, spanish, etc.

What to wear to Hilton job orientation?

I have to go to an orientation for a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. They told me I will be looking over their handbook, filling out papers, and meeting some people. I live in a somewhat small city and I’m under the impression that I will be the only one there (because she said she had someone else coming at 2, so I would need to come at 3.) I’m planning on wearing black dress pants from Express, heels, and a short sleeve white button down with a belt attached to it. Is this alright?
I have to wear heels. I am 5’3" and otherwise my pants will drag the ground.

Restaurant Suggestion?

We’re leaving to NY tomorrow night. The last time we visited we ate nothing but junk food (pizza, hot dogs, bagels, beef patties), LOL, but it saved us a ton of money. We are anticipating doing the same this time but we are going with friends and would really like to visit one of NY’s restaurants. What’s a good restaurant that would be worth the waiting for a table and worth the price? We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea but we don’t mind walking or taking cabs/trains.

We are open to any kind of food except Spanish food. We live in Miami. A Latin American restaurant here are like bodegas over there…all over the place.

Thanks!

Where to stay in the San Francisco area?

I will be making my first trip to San Francisco for Memorial day weekend 2009. It will be me, my brother, and our cousin who range in age from 21-25, so money is limited. I work for Hilton Hotels and need to stay at one of their brand hotels to use the employee discount. We would like to see Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Winchester mystery house, ect. Also, we prefer not to rent a car. My hotel choices are as follows:

Hampton Inn in Daly City
Homewood Suites in Brisbane
Hilton Garden Inn in South San Francisco
Embassy Suites in Burlingame

I was just wondering which of these would be the best choice for some of the attractions we’d like to see, centrally located with easy access to the transit systems, and how easy the transits are to use. Any ideas?
I know that all of these hotels are outside of the city, I was unable to book at the employee rate at any of the Hilton properties in the city and these are my only options. Just wondering which one is closest and will be easiest to get to and from the city. Have a friend in Monterrey who will be here for a day and has a car to drive to the Winchester house.
