Where should I go to summer 2011 , California or Canada?
How are the people in California and how are they in Canada?
What are the places I should check out as a tourist?
My budget will be around 2.000 Euro.
p.s. I’m from The Netherlands and I will be 21 by then

Forget the budget crises. We have Hollywood, Silicon Valley, the great redwoods, and agriculture.
I have been to Texas, Florida, and Ohio this year and everyone seems to be so hostile towards CA and it’s people.
Why do they dislike us when we produce their favorite movies, and most of their computers and software. Even Yahoo and Google are about 10 miles from my house (in California). Why all the resentment towards CA?
I plan on flying out to eureka, and going forth from there. I am planning on camping and need a mode of transport to one of the parks. I am on a budget so spending 0 on a car rental for the week is too much. Any suggestions on places to visit, camp, rent a scooter?
My best friend and I are just about to be finished with college (woot woot!!!)and, as a get-away vacation, we’d like to go somewhere. We have a 5k budget (He’s paying for half)
We’ve decided we’d like to go to California, and visit his parents in San Diego, and go to the famous San Diego Zoo.
We’d also like to visit some historical landmarks while we are there…
and here’s the problem:
There’s just toooooo many different places to go. Are there any significant landmarks that we can travel to? Have you been to any good places?
(like the best 4 or 5 you can think of.)

4. I am thinking of going to the body musuem is it worth the money to check out?
5. I am going March 11-15 will a longsleeve shirt under a shirt and a thick jacket be ok.
My wife and I are taking a week vacation over the 4th of July week. We live in the SF Bay Area and we would appreciate some suggestions on places to go that is driving distance from where we live.
We are mostly interested in places where we can relax and get away from the daily routine. We also need to watch our budget so we can’t spend too much money on our trip.
Since we haven’t planned anything, we need something that can be done on short notice. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, I am a native born Californian who has lived here over 50 years, but, I realize there are probably little "California’s Gold" places I have missed. So, where would you go with a husband and 2 kids, ages 11 and 16. I’m also trying to stay within a budget of about 00.
Venkat: Do you have any idea what the price of gas is in California? Taking that type of a trip would cost a fortune, just in gas.
My two best friends and I have really been needing a vacation and I wanted to surprise them and take them out for a day. We live in Northern California,(around Sacramento) and I plan to pay all the expenses. We want a day of luxury, but I only have 00 in my budget to do it. I dont want for them to have to pay for anything! How can I stretch this money and does anyone know of any inexpensive locations we can go?
I am planning a trip to celebrate my hubbys bday – he likes to surf & we had originally planned to visit N.Cal a few years back…then I got preggie – now we have have 2 little ones & want to take our first family vacation. Want to see Napa (for the scenery – not so much for wine tasting,etc), SF, & any hot surf spots in the area. we are into art, architecture, surfing & beautiful scenery..and fun. AND all this on a budget….can it be done?? I know we cant see it ALL…but a sampling will have to do for now. ANY suggestions are much appreciated – things we MUST see….cool local stuff…..cheap but nice places to stay…and should we stay centrally (SF?) and do daytrips? OR stay in SF for 2 days or so…then somewhere else?

Does anyone know a fairly inexpensive place, but still classy (ie: resort, b&b, hotel, etc.) that can host an intimate wedding (about 30 people, including children and bride/groom), as well as accomodate the guests…would need about 7 rooms, not including the honeymoon suite.
We, as the couple, would like to pay for the entire thing, since his family is travelling from Australia, but have a fairly limited budget as we are both 21 and still have the expense of an apartment, rings, etc. I would estimate that our budget would be about ,000-5,000. This would include lodging, ceremony (no reception), decorations, etc. It would be preferable if the place had kind of a European look to it (Tuscany, etc.). Also, we don’t drink so alcohol, etc. is not a necessity
Just wanted to see if others have done the same thing and/or been to a wedding like this, or perhaps know of cute locations that could accomodate what we’re wanting
