]]> This is probably quite odd, but I’m googling looking for pictures or advice as to what color sofas to put in a room!? I was hoping to find some pictures that would give me the answer, and am now resorting to finding if I can find someone on a blog that can give me some advice?! I would appreciate if you can direct me to the right place or help me yourself! 

We are US expats moving to the Netherlands & having to furnish the house (our stuff is back home in storage!) Fortunately, there is an ikea down the road that makes it affordable & pretty easy. But the floors in the room are a golden oak with two walls of red brick & a back wall of windows trimmed in redwood stain. It’s the golden oak floors that make me think I need to go brown…in which case there is dark brown, khaki, and of course a natural color (but wouldn’t that get really dirty?!)

When I see pictures online, I see black & white on floors like this. Most of the house will be black/white/gray, so one brown room might seem odd? what do you think? Help please!

]]> it looks like some kind of redwood, like a giant wine cask (remember lucy & ethel crushing the grapes on I LOVE LUCY?) it’s hand made possibly from a kit,I noticed a silicone"caulk" type thing between the planks,it’s been sitting for a few seasons gathering leaves and all kinds of bacteria& whatever else, that i need to clean up without affecting the wood. PLEASE HELP! I WANT TO USE MY HOT TUB!!!!

]]> The wood could be about 3 " thick & 3 or 4 foot around’ maybe with bark still on the 3 or 4 inch edge I will do the finish work , and any type of wood with a nice grain redwood would be nice but I think cost would be to much.

It isnt like Florida beaches its a northern california beach, so its actually kind of cold & foggy in the morning, but still the beach.

]]> You know how all of you R&S people are sooooo wise, well, Here are the scenarios, lol…In fact, most likely we would be taking two of them at different times between this summer and next spring "IF" we can decide.

1.) Driving to Northern Cali, see friends and some family, see the Redwoods by the coast again and see Yosemite. Probably better to do that in the fall or spring ?

2.) Flying to either Seattle, WA or Portland, OR, see family and several friends in WA. Also going to Victoria and Vancouver, if possible. (summer) Have been putting this off for years!

3.) Colorado, flying then renting a car, traveling a portion of the area seeing friends. (either fall or spring) Putting that off for years as well. XD

4) Flying to No Carolina, briefly see family that I haven’t seen in a while, again renting a car. Driving around and possibly visiting good friends in So Carolina. (feel like that is an important family decision)

5) Seeing a very close friend that I haven’t seen for years. She lives in Michigan but probably would vacation with her in Chicago. Spoke with her last night and I could tell she was hurt I haven’t made time for her.

(I know I am blessed with a lot of friends, LOL…family is another story) Anyway, time and money only goes so with ALL of your help I can figure this out, hopefully.

You thoughts on vacations, what to see, the best value, time of year, etc.,etc. :)

]]> We want to let it be our ceiling too. We have neutral tile floors, & natural pine cabinets for d kitchen. Our house is block-n-concrete and the ceiling is high. Front door will be redwood color.
