i’m taking a trip to drive down the west coast. the day i’m trying to sort out now is when we drive from crater lake to the redwoods. we’d like to stay on the california coast. can you recommend a city?
(we plan to drive & hike in the redwoods the following day, then continue driving down the coast. we’d like somewhere scenic with awesome food options, & good beers.)

I want to build a simple outdoor picnic table and use pine (mostly 2×4) for construction because it is inexpensive. I plan to set it on my backyard lawn, so it will be exposed to moisture and sunlight. Question is, if I stain & protect it, will it last just as long as other higher quality woods like redwood and cedar? Thanks.

I’m having a hard time renting this place. Its SOO beautiful and in a great location (just 15 minutes from disneyland, Knotts AND the Beach. not to mention everything else(lol)!) AND its one of the better priced rentals but i’m just not getting as many inquirers as i was recieving last year & for the life of me i dont know why!
Im sure the economy scare thats been going on has alot to do with it but still if there IS anything i could improve upon on my side i’d sure appreciate knowing(:>) I Cannot emphasize enough: Any suggestions would be appreciated!!! THANKS!

I have recently become a wildlife major at Humboldt State University, and I am taking the first required class of that major: Introduction to Wildlife Conservation & Administration.
So far, the class has been little more than a jumbled series of dates and their corresponding policies. This stuff, while perhaps important, is disappointingly uninspiring as a first experience of this subject to which I intend to dedicate much of my life.
I am hoping that people can recommend to me books that I could supplement my education with that will provide me with further appreciation and insight into the subject. I am particularly interested in learning the background of human’s relationship with wildlife, dating further back into history (way back in history), and then seeing how that has evolved into the sort of structures we have now.
Really, I am interested in any book that addresses the topic of humans and their relationship with wildlife that is informative and interesting.Thanks!

Need suggestions for a good location in California to spend Christmas, maybe somewhere with a good reputation for fun holiday festivities. LA, San Diego, San Francisco and Sacramento are out. I want to go see the huge sequoia trees in California. I really want to go camping within the forest, & take a lot of photos, looking up. Then I want to paint paintings from them. Any ideas? Anyone done it before?
k so can probably ask and figure out vegan things to eat at these places, but i was just curious if you had eaten at these places and if you know already what to get thats vegan
and i usually cook stuff myself but sometimes i go out with my family and friends and if there isnt much of a choice, im fine with eating before hand and just having a green salad at the place

k i know that a lot of these places arent good for vegan food at all lol but if youve been to any of them and know in advance what to get thats vegan.. that would be sweet

dear i-D.. tons of animals get along just fine without consuming meat. you dont need meat to get sufficient amounts of protein, fatty acids, ect. please do your research before you make ignorant comments to people who are fully aware of what they are consuming.. it irritates me how smart ass people try to tell vegans that what they are doing is unhealthy.. dont you think that vegans out of anyone else would be more aware of what they are putting in their bodies? and yes, its possible to be unhealthy and vegan, but its also possible to be an unhealthy omnivor.. just like its possible to be healthy and vegan and the same for omnivors.
