My Friend and I are going on vacation to Southern California. What are safe areas to stay?
where can you buy disulfiram Also we are not renting a car so I need an area with easy transportation too? A beach area would be ideal. Is long beach safe?

Yes, Long Beach is safe as long as you stay VERY close to the beach……any of that area is fine. It only gets bad in certain areas but if you’re near the water you won’t be in any of those areas. Also-try Huntington Beach…..the Hilton isn’t TOO overpriced and the downtown area is fun. But Santa Monica is probably your best bet for the most variety….it just gets a bit pricey sometimes.

Hi, I think Long Beach is OK. Not sure how you’ll get there, stay out of San Pedro and don’t hang out on the PCH in Long Beach. Try and get out close to Seal Beach for safety on the beach. Public Transportation is pretty good in the area, just make sure you get good clear directions.

Long Beach is the ghetto and the beach is nasty, its at the Port of Los Angeles! Fly into John Wayne, and take the airport shuttle to the hotel. Stay in Laguna Beach, Newport Beach or Dana Point its very safe and you can take the OCTA #1 up and down the coast. Beautiful beaches, great clubs and bars and good looking artists.
Long Beach borders Compton, Wilington, Harbor City and San Pedro. Its off the chain, there’s gangs and lots of crime. No good beaches, only saving grace is the Downtown redevelopment zone!

Good public transportation in Los Angeles is an oxymoron. You will need to rent a car. It’s much more convenient. You could try staying at the Holiday Inn in Burbank. I’m around that area a lot and it’s quite safe. There’s also a bunch of great restaurants and a Ben and Jerry’s around the AMC theater.
You will find the areas of Long Beach to the north, and to the east of the downtown safest, but for the most part it is a reasonably safe city (considering that they have an incompetant police department). Some parts around Atlantic Avenue just north if downtown, and Anaheim Street to the east of downtown are not too desirable. As for public transportation, Long Beach has one of the better systems.You can eventually travel to almost any part of Long Beach using Public transportation. It is also the southern terminus of the "Blue Line" light rail system that will take you into Los Angeles.
